Redruth Studio Burra presents
Bethany Hill and Penelope Cashman
And The Earth Turns
11 Oct 2025 - 7pm (doors open 6pm)
You are invited to a magical evening as Bethany and Penelope take us on a single turn of the Earth through sublime music.
Glorious soprano Bethany Hill sang in SA as a soloist with State Opera and Adelaide Baroque, Adelaide Festival and more, before relocating to San Francisco. Now she’s back for some performances and the wonderful news is she is coming to Burra to present a very special concert in our studio.
With renowned collaborative pianist Penny Cashman, Bethany will present “And The Earth Turns” drawing together beautiful art songs of Wolf, Schubert, Strauss, Korngold, Clarke, Sculthorpe and others to follow the hours of a day, a single rotation of the earth.
More than a recital, Bethany and Penelope have created a show, weaving together movement, story-telling, poetry and music.

Hosting Bethany is particularly special for me because when I was starting out as a composer, she was one of the first singers who sang my work, and her generous support and encouragement was so valuable to me.
The concert starts at 7pm. The church will be open from 6pm for bubbles. If you’re local, we’ll do potluck supper so please bring a plate to share.
This is a private house concert, if you’d like to come please RSVP (jodie.oregan@gmail.com) Suggested donation at the door $10 - $20.
“We invite you to accompany us as we wander from dawn to dusk and through the forest under a night of stars.”
