Songs Between Worlds

For our spring concert, we’re continuing the theme of married musical partnerships when Liz McCall and Julian Ferraretto come to Redruth Studio to share their original music.

Liz and Julian are two of my favourite musical humans, and I’ve had the joy of working with them through Lullaby Project Australia.

Liz is a singer, songwriter and arts leader who has performed with State Opera South Australia and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and at the Royal Opera House and BBC Proms during her years in London. She is now Director of Chamber Music Adelaide. Julian is a jazz violinist, composer and arranger who has performed at performed at Montreux., London and the North Sea Jazz Festivals, performed at London’s Wigmore Hall, and now teaches jazz violin at the Elder Conservatorium.

Liz’s own songs draw together classical and folk influences and have been described as hauntingly beautiful, lyrically ambitious and expansive. Her rich classical voice and Julian’s inventive violin playing make a rather glorious combination.

The concert starts at 7pm. The church will be open from 6pm for bubbles.
